Important Dates for Admission to Jesuit in Fall 2008

October 7, 2007:

Open House for prospective students and their parents.  Continuous campus tours from 11:00a.m. until 12:30p.m.; Curriculum, clubs & activities, athletics and financial aid information will be available.

November 5 - December 11, 2007: 

Shadow Days for 8th grade students.  Spend the morning at Jesuit to see if this is the place for you!  By appointment, during November and December only.  No Friday's. Call the Admissions Office to arrange a date.

January 26, 2008, 8:00 a.m.  meet in the Gym:

The High School Placement Test is a standardized test which includes a written component and will take approximately four hours. Current Freshman MUST take this test. If you are a current Sophomore or Junior, please contact the admissions office. Students must bring the following items to the test: home address and phone number, parent daytime telephone numbers, and the $30 testing fee, payable by cash or check to Jesuit High School. Students may also bring a snack for the morning break. All other testing materials, such as pencils and paper, will be provided. Calculators are not allowed for this test.

Beginning Tuesday, December 4, 2007, you have two options to register for this test: 1) fill out the online form. (This method is preferred). (please print out your confirmation) IMPORTANT: If you register on-line and DO NOT receive a confirmation page after you hit the submit button, and you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, please call the admissions office. 2) for those who do not have internet access, please call (916) 482-6060 X575. Phone registrations do not provide confirmation and you will not receive a call back. Please register using ONE option only. Do not attempt to register earlier than the date posted above, as your reservation will not be processed.

When registering your son for the High School Placement Test, please have the following information available:

  • the date of the test he will be taking (either January 26th or February 2nd)
  • his first and last names (please spell the last name when registering by phone)
  • the school he currently attends
  • your home phone number
  • your home address

NOTE: You can not apply to more than one Catholic high school at a time. You must choose the high school you wish to apply to and take the test at that campus location.

Applications are given out at the test administration.  This packet outlines the remainder of the admissions process, and contains the application form, three academic recommendation forms, a pastor recommendation form, a request for a transcript of grades, the Student-Parent Interview schedule, and financial aid forms.

Make-up date: February 2, 2008 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m. in the Library.  Mention this alternate date when registering, if you have a conflict and can not attend the normal test administration.

February 9, 2008 (9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.) and February 10, 2008 (1:00p.m.-4:00p.m.):

Freshman Interviews in the Gymnasium.  Times (assigned alphabetically) will be sent home with students who take the Placement Test.  Deadline for students to submit all application materials.

February 22, 2008:

Financial Aid forms due to P.S.A.S.

March 7, 2008:

High School Placement Test scores mailed home.

March 14, 2008:

Admission Decisions mailed home.

April 5, 2008 :

8:00a.m.-1:00p.m. in the Gymnasium.  Registration for students accepted into the Class of 2012.  Registration forms and fees are due on this day to reserve his place at Jesuit.  Curriculum-based tests will be administered to help determine course placements.  Optional Athletics & Fine Arts presentation at 8:30a.m.  For those with conflicts, we offer a make-up date: April 12, 2008, 9:00a.m.-1:00p.m. (no presentation).

Students who have taken a full year of high school level algebra, geometry or a foreign language are eligible to test out of these courses and start in advanced/honors sections.  Our school year begins in mid-August.  All students must be present for orientation and opening days.  Please plan all vacations accordingly.
