Jesuit Sacramento High School

Student Life

Students are connected to services and activities at Jesuit High School that reflect the desire that each student develop more fully - intellectually, spiritually, physically and emotionally - through new and varied experiences, some of which might be positive and successful, some difficult and challenging. An Ignatian approach to co-curriculars provides students opportunities to "stretch" themselves, to have experiences they previously may not have had, as a way to assist them in being open to growth. It also fosters positive self-esteem and assists in the development of the "whole person".

The Counseling Department, Campus Ministry, and Student Activities have evolved to serve the ever changing needs of students. The Counseling Department helps students stay connected academically through tutoring, mentoring, grade monitoring, college planning, and awareness campaigns for safe and appropriate behavioral health choices. The Campus Ministry Program helps students stay connected spiritually through prayer, liturgy, retreats, chaplains, Christian Life Communities, and Big Brothers. Student Activities help students stay connected socially through clubs, sports, the arts, student government, and school sponsored social events. Born of student needs, maintained through school tradition, and refined by the changes of time, these support systems manifest "cura personalis" in Jesuit High School's striving to educate its students with academic excellence, co curricular involvement, and spiritual and religious formation.
