Freshman

• Freshman orientation to counseling services
• Discuss the "Four Year Academic Plan"
• Monitor academic progress, behavior and attendance
• Review standardized test scores
• Course selection for Summer Session and Sophomore year
• At least two individual meetings with counselor

Sophomore

• Sophomore Orientation
• Promote co-curricular involvement
• Monitor and evaluate progress and performance
• Emphasize importance of grades for college admissions
• Review the Four Year Plan
• At least two individual meetings with counselor
• Review PLAN testing
• Counsel on academic and personal issues as needed
• Register and introduce students to Naviance Family Connection
• Identify and explore career possibilities using the Strong Interest Inventory

Junior

• Monitor and evaluate academic progress and performance
• Review the Four Year Plan
• Conduct college and career orientation to include College Planning Handbook and Naviance Family Connection Career Tools
• Begin formal college admissions exploration using Naviance Family Connection
• Further explore career and major possibilities using Naviance "Do What You Are"
• Review PSAT results
• SAT and ACT registration information
• Review NCAA requirements
• At least two individual meetings with counselor
• Counseling on academic and personal issues as needed

Senior

• Review of the Four Year Plan
• Intense work on college admissions: letters of recommendation, admissions essay assistance, college search, financial aid, etc.
• Conduct senior class meetings on UC, CSU and private school applications
• Review NCAA requirements
• SAT and ACT registration information
• At least two individual meetings with the counselor
• Counseling on academic and personal issues as needed
