Learning Resource Center

Mission and Purpose

Welcome to the Learning Resource Center where we make every effort to assist and support students and faculty in the pursuit of accomplishing the mission as set forth by Jesuit High School to “actively educate and nurture young men from a wide variety of ethnic, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds.” While we understand that every student has a personal learning style and unique academic history, we also realize that some students need extra assistance in maximizing their strengths. Jesuit’s commitment to social justice requires that all students have ample opportunity to reach their full potential. Furthermore, learning takes time. Our purpose is to help the student navigate the demands of a hectic schedule and become more efficient in reaching his academic goals.

The Learning Resource Center works together with administrators, counselors, teachers, and parents to identify the student’s needs and devise a plan to assist him in achieving success. The LRC reviews the concerns and assesses the student so a plan may be drawn up to assist him. The student will then meet on a regular basis with a qualified learning specialist after school in the LRC’s Reading Clinic at no extra charge. The Learning Specialist monitors and reports the on-going progress made by the student so that the learning process is strategic and targeted.
